Dr. Hugh Miller has been providing high-risk obstetrical services to the Southern region of Arizona for over 22 years. He has joined Valley Perinatal as the Medical Director of Southern Arizona. Dr. Miller received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1985 where he also did his residency training in Ob/Gyn. He completed his training with an MFM fellowship at the University of Arizona in 1994.
Dr. Miller has a passion for research with a focus on smoking cessation, advancing the therapeutic options to reduce preterm labor and more importantly preterm birth. He retains an active role in medical education and has created the non-profit research foundation, Watching Over Mothers & Babies (W.O.M.B). WOMB is committed to improving maternal child health through research, education and programmatic development that addresses the full range of health issues that confront pregnant women and their children.
In 1998 he won the National CREOG Teaching Award and in 2003 he won Excellence in Teaching Award from the University Of Arizona. Dr. Miller has been named a Top Doctor by Tucson Lifestyle Magazine two years in a row, 2016 and 2017. He currently resides in Tucson, Arizona with his family when he’s not traveling the world or exploring the backcountry of AZ and the many National Parks of the West. On the weekends you can find him hiking and focusing his photography skills.
