Founded by maternal-fetal medicine pioneer Dr. John Elliott alongside Berkeley Geddes, VPS was built on a commitment to advancing care, improving outcomes, and giving patients access to specialized expertise when it matters most.

Today, our maternal-fetal medicine specialists work in close partnership with referring OB/GYNs to provide advanced evaluation, consultation, and co-management for high-risk pregnancies. From early risk assessment and advanced prenatal imaging to complex maternal and fetal conditions, our goal is to identify risks sooner, provide the right level of specialized care, and help every patient achieve the healthiest possible pregnancy and delivery.

Our Story So Far

Valley Perinatal Services began with a belief that better outcomes in high-risk pregnancy require more than reacting when complications arise. They require specialized expertise, close collaboration, and the ability to recognize risk early enough to make a difference.

A Legacy of High-Risk Pregnancy Expertise

VPS was founded by Dr. John Elliott and Berkeley Geddes with a vision to advance maternal-fetal medicine and improve outcomes for mothers and babies. Dr. Elliott became nationally recognized for his work in high-risk pregnancy, particularly the management of multiple gestations and the prevention of preterm birth, helping establish a foundation of clinical expertise that continues to shape VPS today.

Built on Partnership

As VPS grew, so did its relationships with OB/GYNs and healthcare providers throughout Arizona. Rather than replacing a patient’s existing obstetric care, VPS developed a collaborative model in which maternal-fetal medicine specialists work alongside referring providers—bringing additional expertise, advanced diagnostics, and high-risk pregnancy management to the care team.

Expanding Access to MFM Expertise

Over the years, VPS has expanded its team and reach across Arizona, making specialized maternal-fetal medicine care more accessible to patients and the providers who care for them. That growth has allowed VPS to support more pregnancies while maintaining the physician collaboration and individualized approach on which the practice was built.
